I am a lucky child because I was allowed to see the light of day in the beautiful Gosau Valley. Even as a young person I was drawn out into nature, into the forest. After my school education I spent a few years in the distance. But it did not take long and I came back again.
My way should be a different one and my learned profession was quickly hung up on the nail. I knew I wanted to do something different.
So it happened that I started "hiking with betty" more than 13 years ago. Shortly after, I started my new training. I was able to turn my passion into my new profession.
New challenges and tasks came my way and I really enjoyed it. I could give free rein to my creativity and every day was a new experience with many wonderful encounters.
At that time I started with the hiking tours and worked in the winter in the ski school. But this was also to change, because I realized I was missing the tranquility of nature. That's why I became a snowshoe guide and Nordic walking instructor.
My love for children challenged me to continue my education in this area as well, and so I completed the training to become a certified forest educator. Working with children is something very special. It is a lot of fun to see how you can inspire children. With very simple means. To encourage their creativity and to give them a connection to nature. To show them what they can do and to encourage them.
With the weekly program you have the opportunity to hike in a small group with like-minded people and to get to know Gosau, its inhabitants and its treasures. In addition to the weekly program I also offer individual tours and also multi-day tours.

Even as a child, I grew up in a beautiful environment in the Bluntau Valley. After a short "mountain break" in the city of Salzburg, I was nevertheless drawn back to the countryside, to the mountains. Now I live with my family in Russbach at Pass Gschütt. I am very grateful to live here and to be able to experience and live so close to the precious treasures of the mountains and forests.
Every time I dive into nature, be it with my family, a group or alone, I feel right at home. "arrived".
In my free time I also like to hike up the mountains with my paraglider to take off at the summit and look at the world from a different perspective together with the birds.
It gives me great pleasure to experience and learn from nature. A treasure of knowledge that I would like to pass on and share with you. I am also very excited about all the valuable people that I can lead and accompany through beautiful landscapes and mountains. Some time ago I met Betty. A person of the heart, likeable right away.
I am very happy to be part of the team of "Hiking with Betty".
The great fortune of growing up in the middle of a beautiful landscape surrounded by mountains has shaped me from childhood. Today, I am still fascinated and enjoy being out in nature. The freedom in nature, away from mass tourism, my knowledge, my experiences, all this I would like to share with you during my hikes, snowshoe tours or forest adventure tours.

She has been a regular visitor to the mountains for over 30 years and especially loves the seasonal changes in nature and the associated changes in the incidence of light in the cycle of the year, as well as the scent of the earth, the forest and the plants. Therefore, distilling the herbs and plants is also one of her hobbies, where she can best capture the scent and taste of the herbs and plants through distillation.
Being outside, moving around, feeling peace, looking at magnificent landscapes, discovering the wonders of nature, experiencing the rhythm of the seasons with all my senses, being out and about with like-minded people, experiencing alpine culture and traditions - that strengthens and inspires me. And most of all, I like to pass on some of what has enriched my life since childhood to open-minded and interested people on my hikes and snowshoe tours. Always under the aspect of the greatest possible safety. I enjoy giving my guests unique experiences in nature and in the mountains.

To escape from everyday life and to convey the treasures and works of art of nature is one of my goals. At the same time, the fun must not come too short. I try to complement this combination with my knowledge of Gosau and the surrounding area. It is always nice to discover something new in nature. Oh, if the path remains the same, every hike is different again, even for me!
